Investigation: Sailors' Abuse Kept Silent in Navy Canine Unit Document Collection
We are posting the documents we have received that pertain to the story of Joseph Christopher Rocha, the investigations into allegations of abuse, Joseph's military record and the voluntary statement he made regarding his sexuality that ended his career under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".
The following was obtained under a Freedom of Information request.
Posted below, and available for download in PDF form (right-click to download), are a collection of three performance evaluations that were made during Rocha's time with the MWD (K9) unit. Note that in his reviews his supervisors paint a picture of Rocha as a "dependable" "highly motivated" "team player" who was accepted into the U.S. Naval Academy.
